One of the most magnificent carved Billiard Tables we have ever seen, made by Thurston, London c1898 in solid English oak throughout. Hand carved with astonishing detail and craftsmanship, each leg is made from a single piece of solid oak of outstanding quality, and each of the covering panels to the top of the leg framework is individually hand carved as a grotesque mask, each of a differing design. Wonderful craftsmanship, with no distortion or shrinkage to any of the timbers in over 130 years which stands testament to the quality of the timber originally selected for the construction. We estimate this table to weigh around 2 tons when completely assembled. We have removed all polishes & finishes applied over the years so that is back to the natural oak and can be sealed & left natural, or stained & polished as required. Absolutely wonderful.
