A fine example of an antique billiard/life pool 'roller marker' scoreboard by Burroughes & Watts, made c1890 in light oak and in superb condition. It consists of  a central slate for chalk marking, with roller numbering above & below from 1-19, 20-39,40-59 etc up to 99 and flanked on either side with five 'life pool' slides. These contain discs & mother of pearl markers to keep account of lives available for each player, and are slid fully open at the start of the game then gradually closed up as lives are lost.  The 'star'  can be used on payment of an extra stake to buy more lives if chosen . A beautiful & rare example of these classic billiard/snooker scoreboards.
