8ft Riley antique snooker-dining table

A lovely example of this timeless & most popular style of combined Billiard-Snooker/Dining table by EJ Riley of Accrington.  This table is a half size, with a playing area of 8ft x 4ft & was originally manufactured c1920 in fine quality solid mahogany.  It still has much of the original patina and colouration and this has been retained & revived during our renovation works.  The cushion rubber was replaced by us in recent years and is still fine, and although the cloth to the bed & cushions is still in very good condition we will replace this if required in either standard green or another colour if preferred.

These tables are extremely collectible in completely original condition and will prove to be a fine investment, as prior to the 1960's (before Pot Black & colour television & Steve Davis brought a new audience & interest to the game) Many tables had lost the original solid timber dining surface to be used in the making of other furniture. As a result there are numerous tables in existence which have been fitted with replacement tops of inferior timber or veneered board, and this massively affects the overall value of the piece.  This table still has the original 5-piece dining surface in superb quality solid mahogany, which has remained as flat & true as when it was manufactured 100 years ago.  It also has the original fold-out lifting handles at each end of the table to make the adjustment process that much easier.
