Antique bulbous, fluted tulip, or carved legs c1870 - c1900

These are various examples of half size (8ft x 4ft play area or similar) antique Billiard/Snooker/Pool tables which we have modified for the modern game, but retained the wonderful original timber structure. Original tables from c1700-c1900 were all made for billiards or various earlier games and so had narrow & shallow pockets perfectly adequate for the requirements of a very much slower game. With the advent of snooker around c1890 & especially now with the popularity of Pool, these older tables were viewed as inadequate for break-building, and so later tables were made with wider & deeper pockets to be more accomodating and increase the enjoyment factor.  As part of restoring these older tables we carry out various modifications to the cushions & pockets to combine a lovely piece of antique furniture with thoroughly modern playing characteristics.
